Postive things about my 3 year old monster...
He is smart. Too smart for his own good... Woah, getting sidetracked once again, lol. ;)
He can count to 60, rote counting and counting objects. Am amazed he can count that high while maintaining one to one correspondence with the objects and his little fingers. :) He can recognize numbers up to 20. He can write the numbers 0, 1, 2, and 3.
He knows all of his capital letters and each of their sounds. Still some difficulty with short vowel sounds, but getting closer. He also knows most of his lower case letters now, just confusing b,d,p,and q. He can write about 50% of them.
His phonemic awareness rocks. He can tell me the beginning sound of any picture he sees, and then tell me it's corresponding letter we should draw for it's label. He can also rhyme like a champ and count words in a sentence.
He can write his name.
He is potty trained. We still struggle with pooing. He has his great weeks and his not so great weeks. He will do wonderfully one day and then refuse to go the next day. This makes him very, very grouchy.
He can finally fully dress and undress himself. I kept him a baby for way too long in that area. :S But shirts are now coming off and being put on without a fight and shoes are on (and on the right feet) independently.
He is now going all day with a bandaid on his thumb, no thumb sucking at nap, it takes him a LOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNGGGGG time to fall asleep without it but we are making progress. Still allowing him to have it at night but he knows the cutoff for that is quickly approaching.
He loves his Sunday School class and his teacher. He talks about it all the time and sings "Jesus Loves Me" often. He also enjoys having so many friends.
He loves to run, run, run and push his dump truck around the yard.
He still loves to read. We read at least 30 books a day. Here are his current favorites, these each get read at least a couple times a day.

These are his two favorites to read to himself or to us...

Feeling better, I think. :) Hopefully he takes a really good nap and wakes up happy! Would love to take him to the spray park yet this afternoon.
The sand and rock trucks come tomorrow, the skidsteer comes to back fill tomorrow also, more concrete trucks coming on Monday... Jason is getting just slightly impatient, he is ready to get building. He sits outside and stares at the hole every evening, hope he can hold it back until Monday. ;)
