Our long anticipated backyard project is finally becoming a reality! Lots of excitement around our house. And a few grumbles from our building daddy because of the horrible wind! The weather was not quite as wonderful as he had hoped, the wind managed to break two "fat max" (expensive) tape measures which I guess are supposed to be virtually indestructible and dampered his spirits a few times but all and all I would say his vacation time was a happy and productive one. :) Jaxson is full of questions...first question "Daddy building house for baby goats?" lol, um no, maybe some day? ;) ha ha! Then it became "This Jaxson's house?" And he camped out underneath in his sunglasses and hat with all the treasures he found from the building project and around the yard. Here is Jason's progress over our vacation week...
Day 2--The main foundation of Fort Jaxson, upside down in our driveway. He attempted to tell me how he managed to get this to the backyard and turned over but I'm only picturing a smashed husband? :S
Day 3--Foundation in place and level, beginning the deck and rock wall.
Day 4--Top of the deck railing and slide on.
Putting on the decking on the main platform, there will be another deck as tall as our house...called Adventure Mountain. :S He took the measurements off of a Backyard Adventures playset. Ours is a combination of the $15,000 and $17,000 playsets, yow! Jason assures me it won't cost even a tenth of that price because they are so marked up. :) There is actually one priced at $35,000 called Olympian something, yikes!
Jaxson mimicking his Daddy, screwing in to the trex with a stick.
Under the ladder, he says this is his room inside his house. :)
Day 5--not many pictures during the day this time! We were out running around getting materials, and modifying the plans slightly. It was supposed to be only partially covered, half was called a "sun deck" but Jason didn't feel it was going to be strong enough once the monkey bars and gang plank were attached so it took a little while to replan and we had to go get more wood. Here he is putting up the roof trusses (is that how you spell that?).
Daddy had to go back to work today :( so we are having a pretty lazy day. Heading to the park as soon as he's up from nap. While I was getting ready this morning he was in his room reading. His books look like this at the end of every day, oh how this boy loves to read. :) This book he is reading is one he has memorized, it's just the words to the song "Head and Shoulders". I love those books that are the words to the songs they can memorize. He also has the "Ten in the Bed" book memorized as well as "Itsy Bitsy Spider" and a few others, he is pretty convinced he is a "reader". :) He "reads" the whole book but if you ask him specifically about a word he says it says "J-A-X-S-O-N--Jaxson!", lol! Every word in this world spells "Jaxson"!
My goofy kid.
Off to enjoy my last weekday vacation day with my sunshine! 40 more workdays until summer!!!!!!
And we are having to find new daycare beginning Monday (as in two days). Ugh! That will have to wait for another not so sunny post. :P Have a great weekend!

I cannot wait to come visit and see Fort Jaxson!!!!! I am pretty sure my kids won't mind moving in for a few days!!! That's OK with you, right??!!
Fort Jaxson is going to be way better than what we can find at the park around here!! We will be able to have playdate/vacations at your house! Sounds like fun, GO JASON!!
