Denae
Off on Spring Break but the sun sure isn't shining. So gloomy, like so many people are feeling right now. Denae was scheduled to have her MRI so the doctors could map out the surgery at 7 this morning but it's been pushed to 9:30. The tumor is the size of a quarter and located on her brain stem. They say surgery is her only option. One of the hardest things about this is knowing how much nagging her mom had to do inorder to find this cause to her pain. How many tests her daughter has been through for such piddly things, the number of medications she has tried for migraines...all causing her horrible side effects. How many mornings and afternoons she sat in the corner of my classroom reading while I worked because she couldn't stand to ride the bus or sit in the gym with all the noise. How many nights she has hung out in the emergency room only to leave with an increase or change in medication. It took Linda calling the nuerosurgeon at his house to meet them at the ER Friday to finally get an answer (who does that??). I know if it's your own child you will go to extreme measures but it just makes me cry thinking that's what it took to find this tumor and how many of us trust our doctors to the point where we don't question them? I feel angry today. :( Please continue to pray for her...
